Appearance
Four themes, not two. Night is red on black for dark adaptation — the one to use at the eyepiece, since red light costs you the least night vision. It also red-tints imagery, so photographs stay legible without wrecking your eyes.
Night mode toggles from anywhere with Shift+N.

Observing site
The same control as on Tonight, because it is the same setting. Twilight, altitudes, airmass, satellite passes and the forecast are all computed from these two numbers.

This is a guess. Longitude comes from your time zone, which is roughly right; latitude is simply assumed, so rise and set times could be hours out. Every reading below inherits that until you fix it.
Stored in this browser only. The forecast is the one thing on this page that leaves it, and it goes to this server rather than straight out — your coordinates are not handed to anyone else.

Slow movement in the decorative sky. Your system’s reduced-motion setting and red night mode always take priority.
